My 9 Month Old

This has been a crazy month full of packing and moving across the country. And amidst the craziness Chet was brazen enough to turn 9 months. What are we going to do with that boy?

He is still our darling, bouncing, baby boy. Here are some things that he has been up to this month:

  • He can wave! Or at least, I think he can. Tonight was the first time he has done it on command so it might have been a fluke. But his big ol' proud grin makes me think otherwise.
  • He is starting to sleep a lot better, thanks to a whole bunch of help from Grandma and my sisters. They are great pep talkers. Plus they love me enough to get up in the middle of the night with my baby.
  • He is crazy about his blankie. And if he doesn't have it at nap time or bedtime we are in big big trouble.  Whenever I pull him out of bed he frantically reaches out for his beloved. But I usually take it away from him and keep it in his bed. I'm a mean mom like that.
  • Still not much movement going on. But lately he has started to try to get to things and ends up backing away from whatever he wants. That gets him real mad.
  • When he gets excited to see anyone (especially if that someone has food for him), he begins to twirl his hands and feet. Pretty peculiar but pretty hilarious.
  • I always know when he wants to nurse because if I approach him he immediately spits his binkie out. It makes me laugh every time.
  • He has become a great traveler, which was a big blessing on our cross-country road trip.
  • He took a bottle for the first time last week. My mom was a dear and watched the kiddos so Tanner and I could take a little day trip.
Basically our Chet is a blessing and brings so much joy to our family. Don't know what we would do without him. And because of the craziness this is the best I've got as far as pictures go. I'll do better this next month!

Yeah, thats me trying to sleep in the background...not a chance.

  1. That is so funny about spitting out his binkie! Milk is crack for babies. Except healthy, of course.
