10 Months

  • Eliza's hair is long enough to go in a pigtail but she acts like I'm torturing her anytime I fix it so she still looks like a little boy most of the time.
  • She's figured out clapping and is always ready to show off her new found talent whenever she hears someone say "yay!".

  • She is such a sweet baby tagging along on all of our adventures. And it's so nice to have an average sized baby instead of another lugger like the last two. I don't mind carrying her around because she's so dainty compared to the boys.

  • Mariah loves to carry her around too but it's getting more difficult the bigger Eliza gets. She and Eliza have such a sweet relationship. Eliza gets so excited if Mariah decides to go to bed the same time as her. And yes, that is Chet standing up on the counter taking inventory of the food in the kitchen. He knows better than me what we have in the cupboards and fridge.

  • She now has two teeth and they make her look so big! She loves to do a bulldog face, shoving her lower jaw out as far as it will go and it is so funny.
  • She is now rolling over and scooting a little on her bottom to get where she wants to go.

  • The other day while Eliza was nursing Tanner got home. Right when the garage door opened she looked up and said, "Da!". When she is sad she calls for me and when she is happy she's all about her dad. It's pretty sweet.

  • She has gone to bed several nights now without me being there and has done great. She still wakes up a few times in the night but she loves sleeping in.
  • When she is really happy about me picking her up she does this simultaneous kick with her legs that totally reminds me of holding a rabbit. She also does it when I bring her into the bathroom because she thinks she is going to get a bath.
  • She still tries to lick the lotion off my hand when I rub it on her face...not sure when she'll get over that but it is annoying and funny at the same time.

9 Months

  • Got her first tooth. Besides a few rougher than normal nights she was the happiest baby.
  • She has the cutest way of smacking her lips when I am bringing her back to her bed after nursing in the night. It would be even cuter if she only did it once or twice in the night.

  •  This month was her first time in a swing and in a shopping cart.

  •  Her favorite food is bananas. She gets so excited when she sees me coming with a banana; most of it still gets spit out but it makes her happy.

  • Eliza has gotten really good at clawing our faces. Especially when we are saying sweet things to her, she lashes right out and has gotten us good many times. We try not to take it personal.
  • I have gotten brave enough to let her bathe with her siblings. Besides a face plant one time with Austin, which he thought was hilarious, things have gone well and she really likes having someone in the bath with her.

  • She finally decided to roll over onto her stomach and is starting to figure out how to roll back to her back. She still stays in one place which makes me happy; a sedentary baby is an easier baby.
  • Eliza doesn't have much patience when it comes to being touched. She bats anyone and everyone's hands away. Guess we won't have to worry about her standing up for herself.
Besides her sleeping, she really is the sweetest baby and we just love her so. And one thing I've learned from four kids is that they do start sleeping eventually so I'm just trying to enjoy this baby while I have her.
