Eliza girl is now 7! I often think she is older because she doesn't miss a thing and is such a good helper. I'm always amazed with what this girl does and says. Here are some of my favorite words of Eliza:
After reading a book where a boy wishes on dandelions: "I know that doesn't work because I've wished thousands of times and the only wish that comes true is the cousins coming, and even that takes a while." When I asked what she wishes the most for: "A dragon."
"Vivi did you know you're a princess even when you don't have a dress on? Even when you have mud on you?"
Annoyed that I just sit in the shallow water with Asa at the pool: "Mom, you're just like those girls at the pool who just tan and try to get boys to like them."
"You know what Peter pan is? A punk." She was expressing disgust with how he treats Wendy. She brought it up multiple times, "And Wendy still loves him!" Said incredulously. The girl should be just fine when she starts dating. The boys on the other hand...
Even later after watching Peter Pan: "He likes three different girls! Tiger Lily, the mermaid, and Wendy. What? Does he think he can marry all of them? You can't marry a mermaid." The girl raises valid concerns.
"Market, get set, go!"
During a girls night watching Sense and Sensibility and eating ice cream on the couch: "I feel like a grown up eating here."
"Applesauce woot woot!" Eliza and Jack's phrase to use when you're excited.
Tooth Fairy kept forgetting (She's real tired). I told Eliza that she had been really busy: "Then ask a guy tooth fairy, he won't forget."
After Tanner made a big breakfast: "Dad's getting fancy! But he doesn't wear earrings and necklaces." The epitome of fancy.
After gingerly picking up her sister's underwear: "It's like I'm holding people's bum cheeks."
"I just thunk of one!"
Eliza is such a nurturer. She has a gift for seeing needs and helping out, especially with her younger siblings and cousins.
She and Vivi crack each other up. I love their giggles.
Eliza loves beautiful things. She often brings wildflowers in and gets so excited when she sees a pretty bird.
She knew just how she wanted her cake and when I suggested trees she had the idea of putting them around the cake.
She insisted on lighting her own candles and got to have lots of people over to sing Happy Birthday. We also found out that it was one of our missionaries birthday, so we were able to sing to him too.
