Eight Months

  • She is becoming quite adept with her mouth. From lip pops to tongue clicks and a wide array of babbles, she keeps us entertained.
  • Eliza has started to scrunch her face up and it is so adorable. I think she knows we think it is funny because she has been doing it more and more. She'll even stop nursing to give me a scrunched up face.

  • She is learning to imitate us. At the beginning of the month she would shake her head whenever we did. She has even started to clap sometimes when we clap.
  • She thinks it's so funny to play tug of war with her blanket before bed. I can get some really good belly laughs.
  • Chet seems to be her new favorite sibling. She lights up whenever he pays attention to her.

  • We have learned that Eliza goes to bed much better at night if we leave her door open. She will fall asleep through the screams and chaos of her siblings getting ready for bed.
  • Eliza has the funniest relationship with food. Anytime she sees someone eating she gets so worked up and won't relax until we give her some. Which makes life difficult when my two boys never stop eating. And then most of the time she chews on it and then spits it out.
Her favorite food is apple cores...her brothers are real sweet and give her theirs. And since she's a fourth child I let her have them.
  • She is starting to get possessive of things and can get mad when something is taken away from her. When she is getting mad she slams her arms down. Already working on tantrums...
  • Eliza had her first illness, which is nothing short of a miracle being surrounded by her germ-infested siblings. She was feverish, had a nasty cough, and ended up with a double ear infection. I even hauled the swing back up from the garage so I could get some sleep. But she's all better now.
  • She is constantly getting confused for a boy. I think her little comb over throws people off.
But she's so pretty!
